As we confidently conclude an extraordinary 2024, we assert our deep appreciation for each of you. Thanks to your unwavering support, SISTAS Empowerment Corp. has made a powerful and vibrant resurgence after a five-year hiatus. Together, we have achieved remarkable outcomes, driven by your enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to our mission.

Our Achievements in 2024
This year, we reignited the spirit of SISTAS Empowerment Corp. and made significant strides in establishing sacred safe spaces for healing, empowerment, freedom, and liberation:

February 24th - The Visibly Invisible Queens Breakfast:  We hosted 130 attendees at this impactful event, fostering vital connections, celebration, and inspiration, powered by our sponsorship with the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods (NECN) and Collins Foundation. 

March 30th - Visibly Invisible: Honoring Our Unsung Sheroes Gala: Our gala and fashion show exploded in scale, attracting over 350 attendees. We awarded 50 honors to recognize years of outstanding contributions. A special thank you to the Collins Foundation, our table sponsors, and all the generous donors who propelled the success of this event. May 11th - Mama’s Mother’s Day Tea & Shower:  We celebrated and uplifted  young mothers in a heartwarming event  overflowing with love and support.

New Partnerships: We are forging new alliances with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters to enhance girl empowerment programs.

Grants Received: This year, we secured essential grants from outstanding organizations, including the Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods, Metro Rise Grant, and Black United Fund, alongside ongoing support from the Collins Foundation. These contributions are pivotal in advancing our mission. Your generous contributions, grants, and sponsorships have enabled us to raise nearly $75,000 for these impactful activities. Your support is making a significant difference!! 

Looking Ahead to 2025

With the momentum we’ve gained this past year, we are poised to move forward with even greater objectives. Here’s what lies ahead:

Our Annual Visibly Invisible Women’s History Month Event:

This year, we will honor Women of Color, including Black, Indigenous, and Women of the Global Majority, celebrating their immense strength and resilience. Secure your exclusive presale tickets now now

SISTAS Circles: We’re excited to expand our circles to foster community, healing, and empowerment. This year, we'll offer two distinct types of circles:

  • Sacred Women Circles: These gatherings will guide women thorough the transformative Gateways outlined in the book Sacred Woman by Queen Afua, focusing on womb wellness, healing, spiritual growth, and empowerment. If you’re ready to join, please Register here!     

SISTAS Empowerment Circle:

These circles will serve as safe spaces where women can access essential resources, engage in fun activities, and feel inspired and supported Register for updates!

  • Retreats: We are gearing up to introduce additional retreats that will continue to cultivate growth, healing, and connection.

  • Website Enhancements: We are actively overhauling our website to better showcase our programs, events, and resources. Expect a more user-friendly experience with enhanced access to information about our initiatives.

  • Board Member and Volunteer Recruitment: We are expanding our team of dedicated individuals to amplify our reach and impact.

  • Robust Fundraising Campaign: To sustain and grow our impactful programs, we will launch a comprehensive fundraising campaign. Your ongoing support is crucial to our success! 

  • Partnership Expansion: We are seeking new partnerships to enhance our impact and serve even more women and families in need.
